Alex Is Struggling

Posted: July 8, 2010 in Uncategorized

Alex has been struggling to get air in his lungs all day.  My wife has worked feverishly to keep Alex from having to make yet another hospital visit.  Alex actually looks pretty good and his attitude is upbeat as usual.  Please pray that we will be able to get to the bottom of the issue which has kept him from being able to sit up in his chair or go anywhere for several months.

Again, if you have read all or part of the book, please feel free to ask me questions.

I just read your one chapter today. My eight year old grandson heard your story on Klove Radio very recently, and wanted to see more about heaven through Alex’s eyes.
thanks for this book, and I look forward to reading it in its entirety.

For now, Know that I will pray for Alex to breathe the best, and not with diffaculty. I will also ask Elisha, my grandson to pray for him as well. He surely will. he loves the Lord and his prayers have brought healing to me on several occasions.

Bless you and your family, in Jesus Name!

  2. Dr. George H Uhrman Jr., RRT, DVM says:

    Dear Mr. Malarkey,
To the Malarkey family and most important “Alex”,

My name is Dr. George H Uhrman, Jr., DVM. I am a memeber of Cypress Weslyn Church in Galoway, Ohio and had the distinct pleasure of listening to and meeting Alex’s father Kevin today. I lived through a horrific auto accident over 35 years ago and suferred many similar body trauma points as Alex; neck-C2,C3,C4, pelvis-8 fractures, fractured femur, fractured right hand, fractured eye socket, concussion, massive internal bleeding. I too spent time with our Lord God and personally carry His touch. It is as Alex says. The warmth, the security is beyond explanation. Like Kevin my parents were told I probably would not survive the night only later to be told, yes I would live but I probably would not walk. Not only do I walk and live God’s love but I am a doctor of veterinary medicine and care for His creators. But Alex has one thing I did not, two parents strong in God’s love and dedicated to seeing Alex carry out God’s plan. Kevin, I commend you on your strength and love as a father, my dad was physically around but he was spiritually absent. Alex will always be your “little buddy” and will grow in the love of Christ and become a man of great faith. Be prepared, Alex is one of God’s chosen now and carries His touch, as I do and all that have crossed to His presence, and this will give Alex the insight of an “old soul”. He will “see” and “know things” before others do and he will make choices that lead him to help others. We are not privilaged to God’s long term vision for each of us but we can be an active participant in His plan. God is a loving God and supports those that stay strong in faith. My heart hurts when I read that Alex has had a rough day. I had many very bad days after my accident and still to this day have rough ones but my love of Jesus Christ only grows stronger, especially when I am renewed in God’s love at church. God does things on and with purpose, I worked through a difficult morning to see and listen to Kevin but God told me I must. God bless Alex and the whole family. Think about a guide dog for Alex while he is recuping. I too believe Alex will walk again and a guide dog may be part of that plan. If you do get a guide dog I will provide full care for it, in God’s love for Alex, for no cost. My office is on the west side of Columbus, Affordable Pet Care, 614-777-4339 if I can be of help.

    In God’s Love,

    Dr Uhrman

I am reading your book on my kindle. Alex and your whole family has touched my heart in a way I can’t really describe. I pray for Alex and for all of you, and know that God is continually at work. He is a God of restoration!! I am telling others around me about the book, and soon I am sure my friends and I will be meeting to talk about the book. Tell Alex thanks for sharing his story with us! I am so blessed as I am sure so many others are as well. Thanks!!

  4. Elizabeth Bland says:

I pray that Alex has better days that the healing continues and his breathing gets easier. I pray that God gives him the strength he needs to get through each and every day. I pray for him to be able to walk again and to always preach the word of God our father. God has given us all a gift, to know of Alex’s and your story and the miracles he has performed so far and to move you toward writing the book to bring so many of us back to the fold, and to bring others who may have had doubt or no belief to finally believe in his existence. Amen and God bless you all. You all have truly been blessed.

  5. Kim Doogan says:

I’m reading this about a month late…but I’m going to pray for you here anyway, since God isn’t limited to internet time. 🙂

Father, help Alex breathe clear, deep breaths. Heal him without ceasing. Help him to walk soon! No…run. Help him to run. Fast. Really fast.

Encourage this family. Protect them mightily as their ministry surges. Continue to grow their love, endurance, humor and Hope. Make Mark a spectacular dad, just like You. Bless Beth–overflow her cup. Bulletproof the exterior of their marriage, make their private world sweet. Protect the kids’ friendships.

Thank you for each one in this precious family. Give them a peaceful, fun Sunday today. I ask these things in your holy and precious name, Lord Jesus. Amen.

  6. Dr. George H Uhrman Jr., RRT, DVM says:

I have read the book from begining to end and have already recommended to many. Is there a way we could be updated on Alex’s progress? I continue to pray that Alex has the strength to live each day in God’s love and continue his progress.
May our Heavenly Father show His love and favor to Alex!!
    Dr. Uhrman

I saw part of your story on TBN and tried to order the DVD thru Barnes and Noble. They notified me they are unable to send it to me. I would very much like to order the DVD. Could you please let me know how I could get it. Thank you for your help. Blessings to you and your family. Sincerely, Anne Renda

  8. Winnie says:

Your story has touched me deeply and brought me back to the realization that I need Christ and so does my family. Thank you.

I will pray for your family and your son, you are truly blessed. Thank you for sharing your story.

  9. Winnie says:

Question for you, what do you think your son meant when he said you have to be “transparent in your spirit”? That comment has stuck with me since I saw the program on TBN.

    Thanks and Blessings to you.

  10. Jan France says:

Thank you for the pleasure of sharing Alex’s story with all of us. I finished the book today and feel such a tenderness and warmth at all that you have found and shared. I can’t begin to imagine all the pain and suffering you all went through but the outcome was surely worth it. God Bless ALL of you as I’m sure he does. Alex, you are truly loved!

I’ve read your book and was very touched by Alex’s faith in Jesus. What a wonderful miraculous boy he is. He’s definitely a gift from God. I pray that Jesus will continue to touch him with His powerful healing hands and fill him with His love, peace and joy and provide for all your family’s needs and His name will be glorified.

I forgot to ask you how’s Alex doing. Has he been able to get more air into his lung? I pray that he has been. Please send my love and prayer to Alex and tell him what a beautiful heavenly smile he has.
